Carbon Peel (Q-Switch Laser)
Also known as the ‘Hollywood Peel’, ‘Carbon Spectra Peel’ or ‘Carbon Facial’, the carbon peel is a rejuvenating skin treatment that works to exfoliate and resurface the skin, leaving your complexion looking smoother, fuller and fresher.
Various skin concerns can be addressed and improved by applying activated carbon powder and advanced Q-switch Nd:YAG laser.
Over time the skin can develop a range of conditions that affect its youthful tone and texture. The intrinsic changes that occur naturally, and several external factors, can cause the skin to show noticeable irregularities as skin weakens and cellular turnover slows down. The properties within the skin that help maintain the complexion’s natural glow start to decrease, giving way to dry skin susceptible to inflammation and sensitivity.
The carbon Peel can help restore the skin’s healthy condition as unwanted and damaged skin cells are repaired and replenished. The treatment is performed in two stages. First, carbon is applied to the skin, followed by a 1060 nm wavelength laser. The targeted heat of the laser causes controlled damage, triggering natural healing responses that increase collagen, elastin, and fibroblast production.
In the second stage, the carbon solution is removed using a Q-switched laser that breaks up and absorbs the carbon using short pulses. This also removes any dead cells, excess oil, and other impurities lying on the skin’s surface. This process also provides deep exfoliation for skin that is brighter, smoother and softer.
Although the results can be instant, a series of 4-8 treatments every 3-4 weeks will provide an excellent outcome that lasts long-term.
