Thread veins and vascular lesions can appear anywhere on the face and body and are common in both men and women.

Presenting themselves as very thin red or purple coloured veins, they are primarily the result of burst blood vessels, becoming visible due to their closeness to the skin′s surface. Thread veins and vascular lesions can be an inherited condition.

Still, other contributing factors to their development can include smoking, alcohol consumption, pregnancy, extended periods on your feet or (facially) when affected by the condition Rosacea. The ageing process can also cause their development, as getting older can see naturally lost collagen in the skin, causing it to become thin.

Therefore, when our veins expand, they appear to be larger and are more visible. Thread veins and vascular lesions are often felt as unattractive to the affected person, causing embarrassment and feelings of self-consciousness when wearing certain clothing items, such as skirts, shorts and swimwear.

IPL vein removal uses a process called Photothermolysis, breaking down and collapsing the vein through heat energy, before natural disposal by the body.
