Acne (Skin Breakouts) & Acne Scarring
Acne (skin breakouts) is a skin condition or disease caused by the body’s inflammatory defences being unable to deal with a combination of oil overproduction and a concentration of bacteria on and near the skin surface.
When this occurs, an outbreak can result in a wide range of symptoms such as blackheads, whiteheads, redness spots, unsightly and painful pustules, painful to touch nodules, and even cysts. Furthermore, unless there is an early and effective intervention, it may not be possible to prevent a possible acne scar.
Anyone may experience some form of Acne during their lives. A rough estimate is that 80% of people between the ages of 11-30 have been affected by it. Typical triggers are hormonal changes, and this is why Acne is more likely to manifest in those going through puberty or pregnancy (but not always).
While Acne associated primarily with the teenage years, it can also affect children and older people. Most people will have had occasional mild acne breakouts at some point in their lives, with many individuals experiencing more severe episodes.
Affecting anyone of any age, sex or race, Acne (skin breakouts) and Acne scarring are not usually harmful. However, they can often cause the affected person to feel embarrassed by these if they are very apparent, leading to a lack of self-confidence.
Our clinic aims to manage most acne problems using appropriate treatments and skincare products while avoiding the more radical step of oral medications. Because there is no known absolute cure, we are dedicated to improving and managing acne symptoms.
Controlling repeated outbreaks allows our clients to go about their lives with as little concern and worry about their skin as possible. With this troublesome, persistent condition being properly controlled, a client’s confidence in their personal appearance can be demonstrably restored. With it, they can expect more enjoyment in life. Fortunately, over recent years, a growing number of successful treatments for acne sufferers have been introduced.
