Dermal Fillers
Dermal Fillers can be used to plump up the skin, smoothing lines and wrinkles by adding volume to various areas of the face.
Due to the natural ageing process, the skin loses the main structural protein found in our connective tissues, collagen. The reduction in the production of this naturally occurring substance can cause our less supported skin structure to weaken, seeing the development of fine lines and wrinkles around the forehead, eyes, cheeks and mouth.
Clients are often concerned that when fine or deeper set creases develop on the face, it can make them look older than their years, seeking treatment to restore their youthful looks and give a boost to their self-confidence.
As well as smoothing lines and wrinkles, Dermal Fillers can also be used to enhance the lips, add volume to the cheeks or recontour the chin, jawline or areas of the face naturally or age-relating loss volume.
Dermal Fillers are injected directly to the area of concern, allowing the skin to plump up and achieve a natural dewy glow immediately to treat conditions such as laughter lines, smokers lines, frown lines, vertical lip lines and crow’s feet.
At Dr PJ Aesthetic Clinic, we use two of the best-known products: Restylane and Juvederm. With the highest safety profiles of all fillers currently on the market, they are the most advanced and effective solutions known to successfully pause ageing signs.
Most modern non-permanent fillers are formulations of stabilised hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance found in the body, assisting in replacing hydration and lost volume to the skin.
The benefits of having this treatment can include the following:
- — Improves cheek volume
- — Reduces shadows under the eyes
- — Reduces lines, creases and folds around the mouth, eyes and forehead
- — Improves the definition of the lips and can increase the volume
- — Improves jowls and recontours weak chins/jawlines

Frequently Asked Questions
Where can Dermal Fillers be used?
Am I a suitable candidate?
Does it hurt?
An initial but brief sting might be felt with each tiny injection. Your advanced and experienced aesthetic practitioner will use extremely fine needles for this procedure, ensuring minimal discomfort. However, the area may be numbed by using a topical anaesthetic cream** before beginning your treatment. This cream minimises the sensation, rendering it significantly less painful.
** Anaesthetic: Anaesthetic cream can be applied around 20-30 minutes before your injections if needed.
