Frequently Asked Questions
Microblading can be a little unpleasant for those who are most sensitive. However, we apply a numbing cream before and during the procedure to keep pain minimal and at a bearable level.
- Do not drink coffee, alcohol or energising drinks on the day of treatment
- Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours before the procedure
- Do not take Omega3 (fish oil) one week prior to the treatment
- Do not get tan or over-exposure to the sun for three days earlier than your appointment day
- Do not wax the area 2-3 days before treatment
- Do not receive any intense treatments such as Chemical Peeling, Microdermabrasion, Laser on the treated area two weeks before the procedure
- Shower and fix your hair before the treatment as you need to avoid the treatment area getting wet for several days
Applying sunscreen is very important, and it will help to prolong the effects of the implanted colour. Your expert therapist will advise of any medication or products you will need to stay away from, and you will need to keep the area dry for around one week. Apart from sunscreen, while the site is healing it is recommended not to apply any make-up or skincare products. Avoid picking, scratching or sleep on your eyebrow, disinfecting the affected area with a small amount of witch hazel, or sterile saline solution 2-4 times a day.
When an expert brow artist administers the treatment, any significant side effects should be infrequent. It is usual for the area to experience some redness or swelling following the procedure, which will subside fairly quickly. Following the aftercare advice given will help ensure other effects, such as infection and bleeding, are minimised.
It is vital to ensure this procedure is performed by a therapist who has had appropriate and sufficient training. This will ensure the technique is applied with more precision and care and not cause any disruption to the eyebrow or the roots of the hair.
This procedure may not be recommended for you for any of the following reasons:
- You are under 18
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You suffer from a severe disease such as diabetes, glaucoma, cancer, epilepsy, autoimmune disorders, bleeding disorders
- You currently on any blood-thinning medicines, Accutane, or strong retinoid
- You have recently received Botulinum Toxin Injection (Botox, Dysport, etc.), or had any Chemical Peels
- You have psoriasis, eczema, broken capillary or sunburn on the treatment area
- You tend to get keloids
Blood-thinning medications such as Aspirin can make successful healing difficult and for the skin to retain the pigment. Your expert therapist will advise you on which medications are included within this category, and how long you should stay away from them for. (before and after the treatment)
Ombré Powder Brows is different from Microblading. The pigments will plant by a unique technique on the very superficial layer of the skin (epidermis layer) with a look natural powdery outcome and a faded front and a crunchy tail, resembling of make-up. Since in this airbrush or shading technique, we use tremendously fine dots of pigment, Ombré Powder Brows is less invasive, less painful than normal Microblading. Also, in this technique trauma is minimal as a result; bleeding during the procedure is slight to zero. Ombré Powder Brows last longer, and suitable for all skin types including the oily skins.
